"provection" Definition
- CONSONANT SHIFT
- a phonetic change in Celtic languages whereby in contact with other consonants (as homorganic sonants) fricatives become the corresponding homorganic stops and voiced stops become voiceless
- a mutation in some Celtic languages (as Breton and Cornish) whereby a voiced consonant becomes unvoiced
- the carrying forward of a final sound or letter to a following word (as in a nickname for an ekename)
